About "eLcie"

"eLcie" is a play on the initials for proprietor, Liliana Chen, ("LC"). She is a veteran communications executive with over 15 years experience in the fields of broadcasting, print and online media specializing in public/media/corporate relations, special events, media planning, ad sales, and sponsorships. She was born in Taiwan, raised in Argentina and moved to New York City with her family as a young adult. She has embraced the melting pot of the big apple as her home and submerged herself in preserving her dual identities through the media and community involvement. Her trilingual skills and deep understanding of ethnic communities give her the extra edge that is needed in today's competitive multi-cultural marketing arena.

eLcie PR was born out of her passion for her community, issues relating to women and children, and her love for the food industry and blending that with her ability to bring in resources through corporate and media relations. She strives to give platforms to small entities such as rising entertainers, upstart businesses and independent marketing initiatives that require that very unique sensibility and a lot of attention that is often lacking in large-scale agencies.

Liliana Chen has a Bachelor's degree from New York University in Broadcast Journalism and started her career at ABC, Inc. in the news gathering division, Worldwide Television News, which is now Associated Press TV. After years at ABC she switched gears and move into the print space by working at an innovative start-up magazine named, aMagazine, which in the 1990's, took the country by storm by being the only national publication for Asian Americans. There after, she followed the internet boom and dove into the world of online web portals. Shortly after, she began to work independently and selectively on clients and projects that had passion, promise and as much of that "let's change the world" energy as she brings to the table and each of her clients.

One of her proudest accomplishments is being a co-founder of Project by Project (PbP), a non-profit organization with chapters in NY, LA and SF focusing on helping Asian American organizations in need and fostering leadership skills in Asian American professionals. PbP's signature event, Plate by Plate, an annual tasting benefit featuring star chefs and international wines was featured in Bravo TV's hit show, "Top Chef", in season 2, episode 2.
